Moder n Thought (i)

Helloooo readers!

Our evening was quite the collection of artists, performers and audience members. Don't forget the great coffee and tea provided by Thyme of Grace owner, Michelle!

The performances were evocative (I will have a final list soon - we added a few last minute) and the audience receptive. There were some common threads that could be seen/heard/felt across the various works of the evening. Interestingly, none of us collaborated. Many of us decided what to do minutes before going on set. _jg_ mentioned that it might be an age issue - people of our age group could tend to deal with certain topics more overtly than others. I think it could also be a cultural trend (not the fad kind of trend... the pattern kind) and a human condition issue. Some of the topics are most definitely a 'human' issue... self, categories, love, love lost, brokenness ... but there were some images that emerged predominant and cannot be so quickly attributed place. This includes (but is not limited to) broken pieces on a floor, childish desires/worldview, stillness ... feel free to add if you were present.

After it was over I was thrilled to see people exchanging contact info and praising each other. There seemed to be consent that this needs to happen again, perhaps on a regular basis.

I concur.
